This unique Baron boasts exceptional performance and is in good condition. It is the lighter B55 model, upgraded with IO520 engines instead of the original IO470s, adding only a couple of kilos. The 520 modification includes ram air scoops with a selectable unfiltered air feature that provides about 1/2" additional MP, resulting in more speed for a given fuel flow.

Vortex generators, gap seals, and wide chord flaps, combined with the more powerful engines, confer excellent short field, climb, and single-engine performance. It has been operated off 500 and 600m grass strips. There is no damage history. It features dual pole and dual toe brakes with heavy-duty discs and three-puck calipers, as well as propeller unfeathering accumulators.

Economical cruise burns not much more than a high-performance single, around 70 lt/hour, giving a TAS of 165kt for around 900nm safe range. Higher speed cruise is 190kt+. The vortex generators applied to the rudder and wings make single-engine operations easier and safer, with a lower stall speed and more rudder power for easy crosswind landings.

Basic weight is 1544 kg, with a max of 2313 kg, providing a useful load of 769 kg. It has 515 liters of usable fuel. The engines run very smoothly with very low oil burn. The right-hand engine is the later IO-520-CB model with a big front bearing and heavy-duty crankcase, expected to run for several hundred more hours, with 2500 hours total not being unusual. ETSOs are L288 and R1778 (recent top overhaul), both overhauled in 2007 (by coincidence, they were in different aircraft). McCauley props have TSO L937 and R311.

The FS450 fuel computer is connected to GPS and includes fuel burn per mile. It has a 6-place intercom, late model Garmin audio, and Garmin no.2 VHF.

Aircraft comes with engine and canopy covers from Bruce's Covers and a redline sidewinder for easy single person operations on the ground, everything you need to operate immediately.

Additionally, there is an extensive spares package, including windows, heater, main gear legs, starter adapter, flap and gear motors, auxiliary fuel pumps, and more. The interior features 6 seats, four in dark blue suede, all in excellent condition, rated 7-8.

Genuine and reluctant sale reasons.
