American Champion Aircraft 1995 super decathlon 8KCAB for sale. Certified 2-seat fully aerobatic. Great for aerobatics, UPRT, glider towing. 195 000 NZD / 179'200 AUD / 115'300 USD no GST For those of you who don't know the specific aircraft type, this not a Citabria, or a Decathlon. The Super Decathlon is vastly superior. Can fit 6 foot 5 inch tall pilots front and back. Huge roomy cockpit. Amazing aerobatic performance, easy tail wheel plane, great vis on landing. Also has a Glider tow hook (removed), is IFR capable with antenna on tail (current radio isn't IFR but old NAVCOM radio included in sale). Fabric is amazing condition, always hangered. Numerous spare parts, wing-strut fairings, bolts, spare inspection ports, etc History: previously owned by an NZ pilot who was the logistics team for Red Bull air race, the plane was only used as a get-around plane, not for competition aerobatics or airshows. Originally on N-register in USA, has been flown to OSHKOSH. Then moved to Japan, then NZ. Both me and prev owner were fastidious regarding maintenance, always hangered. Performance: for cross country you can fly at 28 l/hr in cruise at about 115mph or if you want to burn more and go faster it will cruise at 24 Sq at about 140mph at 75% power.
